Historical Joint-Crisis Committee
It is August 1st, 1955. 10 years since WWII ended. But the world is by no means peaceful. The arms race is at its height. The allies and the Soviet Union had just met in Geneva, where Stalin’s successor, Krushchev was humiliated and plans for a unified Germany were scrapped. In the United States, Communist parties are clamped down and efforts to unionize workers brutally suppressed. In Vietnam, France is dragged into a never-ending war with gurellias. Everywhere around the globe, the Iron curtain is dividing countries into camps based on ideologies, leaving many separated between an impenetrable wall. As the Eastern bloc, delegates must unify against internal conflicts and focus on the common interest. As the Western bloc, NATO will need to strategize and form alliances with more countries to counter the ever increasing threat from the newly formed Warsaw Pact of the Eastern bloc. A war is imminent. Be prepared.
